Aol could wise up (in which case I cover) -- but with FREE Internet service available and SPEED "to die for", an empire can crumble if the leaders delay. Divergence is my word -- worked for two days basically. We shall see.

I'm a little worried about the installs too. In my area, also the midwest, the installs were supposed to start this month. They have been delayed because the modems are not available. Here are some excerpts from a reply to a query that I made.

We plan to launch the service in the ------- area as soon as we have a supply of DOCSIS certified modems on hand.

Manufacturers are reluctant to ship the modems until CableLabs certifies them. We will proceed with our alpha and beta testing using modems that are DOCSIS certification candidates, and we will launch the service in ------- as soon as certified modems are available.
