Knickerbocker Escalates E-Commerce Model Through Yahoo! and America OnLine Providing Enhanced Access to the Internet for Product Purchasing
Monthly Hits Increase to 763,500 in June '98 From 48,607 One Year Earlier

LAKE FOREST, Calif., July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The L.L. Knickerbocker Co., Inc. (Nasdaq: KNIC - news) announced today that it has signed extended contracts with Yahoo! and America OnLine to expand its targeted advertising to enhance access to product purchasing on the Internet. The contracts signed with both Yahoo! and AOL secure keywords that access banner ads which showcase the Company's collectibles web site.

Knickerbocker currently offers seven branded product lines for sale on the Internet featuring Marie Osmond Fine Porcelain Collector Dolls, Annette Funicello Collectible Bear Company, Bob Mackie's Legendary Beauties, Collection of the Masters by Richard Simmons, the Edith Head Collection, The Magic Attic Club and The Knickerbocker Toy Co. The Company plans to continually upgrade and increase its presence on the Internet through 1999.

The site (www.knickerbocker.com. ) features a custom-written ''electronic shopping cart'' which provides easy access and ordering capability through all of the branded product groups. This system is fully secured and offers encrypted credit card processing to ensure user confidence and safety. The site has been rated ''G'' (general audience) by the Recreational Software Advisory Council (RASC), Washington, D.C., who provides a simple, yet effective rating system which protects children and the rights of free speech for everyone on the World Wide Web.

Yahoo! (Nasdaq: YHOO - news), the largest worldwide Internet search engine, provides Knickerbocker with the largest unduplicated audience. Currently, Knickerbocker's ''doll'' and ''dolls'' search words account for more than 9% of the total audience click-through to the Knickerbocker collectible web site. America OnLine (NYSE: AOL - news), the world's leader in branded interactive services and content, with over 12 million members, is the world's most accessed web site from the home. AOL ''NetFind'' search words ''dolls'' and ''bears'' provides Knickerbocker with over 10.72% average click-through rate to the collectibles web site through Knickerbocker supplied banner ads.

''E-Commerce is expected to increase to $20 billion by the year 2000,'' said Robert West, COO of Knickerbocker. ''We have seen dramatic growth on the collectibles web site, with only representative examples of the Knickerbocker product lines. Currently, over 32% of Knickerbocker's web orders are from Europe, and 4% from Asia. As we increase our core presence, the Internet will provide an avenue for our dealers and distributors to place orders online, introduce new products for our rep groups to showcase to dealers, provide a community center with chat lines and message boards, as well as showcase dolls and bears spanning the 75-year history of The Knickerbocker Toy Company.
