Good one Jim! Your reply was wonderful! Message 6004590

I gave up arguing with the guy as it was like arguing with the drunk on the corner with a sign saying "The End Is Near". Argue long enough and they think you are nuts too!

Going against Intel was pure and simple market timing as Intel was not going to go out of business and the smart money knew this and invested or remained put in our long positions. Just not worth 20% Fed and 9% CA tax to try to time Intel unless you are doing so from a trading account which is a whole different game.

Really interesting to look back. If you sold Intel at a relative high of $105 before the correction then got back in at $70, then you made 6% or so after taxes but at least have a much higher tax basis which is positive. I would only think the Queen of timing gods could get these levels so most mortals lost money after taxes if they sold Intel and bought back. Warren isn't a rich man from market timing great companies!

regards and congrat's!
Kirk

His Bugliness has been trying to teach us about investing over on the AMAT thread too, but I'm afraid we students have been a bit slow <G>.
