Average Americans having more equity in the stock market than their homes is a positive thing

Actually that can be easily viewed as a negative. ie, once everyone has invested in the stock market, where is the new money going to come from.

Also, eventually the baby-boom savings pyramid will invert and liquidity will drain back out of the market (into real estate and leisure?). In fact the real savings rate has actually been in significant decline for quite some time. It actually went negative a few months ago for the first time ever.

I'm not saying the stock market is a bad investment, businesses will always figure out how to make money, but I really doubt anyone living now will see a better investment in the market as the last two decades have had.

Any company can sell zillions of $$ at a lost and bring in tons of revenue. When valuation like this happens, and everyone is saying the mkt will definitely go up, we're at the edge of another correction.
