People so badly want 10,000 that they'll get it but, this chart would not suggest that the rally is so broadly based:

The A-D line is does not lie. It doesn't parallel the NYSE and you know that the rally is narrow. We may hit 10,000 on the DOW just because we're within striking distance but then what??? This is early year euphoria that hasn't woken up from the Holiday hangover yet. It will...earnings will be disappointing and the dollar will continue to tumble... that will be enough to end the party, IMO.

in denial????????? Hey, I don't mind disagreement about mkt direction (I have been dead wrong for 3 months) BUT let's get the facts straight...

the advance decline shows that the broader mkt is NOWHERE near where the averages are. How many new highs did we have yesterday on the NYSE on a day that almost every large cap index hit a new high... 143. That's AWFUL. doesn't mean that the same few stocks can continue higher, but you know this rally is DOA.

Bond mkt continues to get shredded. This should be watched closely.

as for gold and oil... you obviously didn't check the data yesterday. Not only were gold and crude up yesterday but the stocks were up even more.

OK, enough of that. pass the EBAY (G)

I'm warning you again... this rally has disaster written on it. Could be Fri or next week or the week after, but I do think the end draws nigh.
