Ordered a Dell Desktop computer on 12/21. Was given a delivery date on or before January 6th. The computer was shipped 12/28 and arrived 1/4/98 ( I had requested the slowest shipping choice UPS).

Your considered opinion has been taken under advisement and it's found wanting!

SB, as I recall, Meredith said he was planning to cut inventory to around 5 days. I thought it couldn't be done. Perhaps this is evidence that it is happening.

Whisper numbers are key because we ourselves create those numbers. Collectively, we comprise the community that creates profit expectations. Consequently, analysts' forecasts are becoming less and less a factor in determining stock prices. How do we know if a whisper number has been met or exceeded? The price of the stock moves up (assuming no negative comments going forward from management)! But I see no more importance attached to this earnings period than any other in the past.
