MM, Many of the stocks in the list for the Franklin group have been in the news quite a bit lately (most recent was Chiroscience and its relationship with AstraZeneca which would be different than a merged Roche/Zeneca or Glaxo/Zeneca).

As you noted, they are looking at companies with caps a bit larger than ARIA. I think that in general, funds tend to stay away from stocks selling below $5.
