Globe says Winspear investors in for a wild ride

The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday edition that analysts such as California newsletter writer John Kaiser are predicting Vancouver-based,diamond explorer Winspear Resources Ltd., which closed up five cents yesterday at $4, could be trading as high as $20 in the next 12 months.
Art Ettlinger, a mining analyst with Yorkton Securities Ltd. in Calgary, thinks those kinds of projections are "highly premature." In recent weeks, Mr.Ettlinger warned that Winspear's valuations are based on samples that are so far considered too small to be a reliable indicator of the project's true potential.
But that has not prevented big players, such as British
Columbia billionaire Jim Pattison, from taking a large chunk of a private placement offering that raised $10.6-million (Canadian) for exploration at Camsell Lake in the Northwest Territories.
Mr. Pattison and other investors could be in for a wild ride. Over the next several months, analysts expect to see wide fluctuations in the stock's value until the company is able to announce results of a winter exploration project that is expected to begin soon.
