Elliot and all,

According my conversation with Roger Ericson of a few weeks back; he indicated that EB was now in code freeze -- as was scheduled. This is the period just prior to general release. The preliminary release is apparently going to occur at this event/conference ALTS has scheduled in San Diego on January 25,26, & 27 of this month. With the GR to occur by quarter's end.

As far as suitors, I'm sure there have been inquiries by other companies, however, Ericson & Low apparently have not been offered the coin they are looking for. The suit is still a sticky issue -- making ALTS less attractive then would otherwise be. I suspect that some kind of dealing must be going on as we post here today.

I'm assuming ALTS is going to continue to consolidate operations down to possibly just San Diego, and maybe just keep a thinly-staffed sales office open in London. A presence in London is probably still necessary, however, the likelihood of a full operational staff going forward is not assured. Given the cash-flow issues they are facing -- this would only make sense.

I'm sure current bank covenants are limiting the liberty they (ALTS) would otherwise have in arranging any M&A deals or the like.
