Lycos/IBM Aptiva Agreement Drives Millions of New Users to the Lycos Network
WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 7, 1999-- Lycos, Inc., (NASDAQ:LCOS - news), the second most visited hub on the Internet and the world's largest online community, today announced it has teamed with IBM (NYSE:IBM - news) to provide the ultimate Internet start page capability onto the desktops of all new IBM Aptiva PCs. Aptiva users will now have a powerful starting point, Lycos.com, from which to explore the Internet, and leverage the power of the Internet into a customizable communications and lifestyle management service. Lycos will be showcased within all Aptiva systems and on the Aptiva Website.
