I believe you are looking at the trades of one of the many penny stocks you normally follow. Amazon's trades are nowhere near that size. (yes, I bothered to look at your past penny discussions)

Amazon is no longer a stock it is a commodity.Trades like one.

Those who trade commodities use leverage so you buy 5000 at a crack and play the swings. Like commodities moves come fast and furious and no one pays much attention to fundamentals. I am much more comfortable with these internet stocks now that I see them for what they are. By the way, I just bot some short fuse puts (Jan 130) on AMZN.
