ISleuth shopping engine mentioned in Magazine

The new issue of The Industry Standard -
The News Magazine of the Internet Economy
Jan 11-18/99 print issue

An excellent article on Internet shopping bots/services
mentions IQuest.

Cheap, Cheaper, Cheapest
By Michelle V. Rafter
While popular with shoppers and small-time merchants,
some retailers consider bots a menace.

thestandard.com

Excerpt from article:

With the growing popularity of online shopping, other vendors are
beginning to market price-comparison technology to independent
shopping sites and merchants. Inktomi, the search and caching
technology vendor, will soon launch a private-label comparison bot
called Shopping Engine. Merchants can use the technology to help
shoppers search product categories, by price or brand name. Inktomi
has already licensed similar technology to shopping sites W3Networks
and iSleuth. Meanwhile, another vendor, Active Buyers' Guide, licenses
its search technology to PC Photo Forum, Imagine Resources and
Hyperzine.

Shop 'Til You Drop
Merchants may disagree over their usefulness, but that hasn't
stopped price-comparison shopping sites from proliferating.
Here's a sampling of what's out there.

[Off Topic] This rule permits only those companies that report their current financial information to the SEC, banking, or insurance regulators to be quoted on the OTC Bulletin Board®.

I think this requirement is an excellent. It should inhibit many of the scam companies (who typically don't report) from conning trusting investors into investing. Trading of these companies will be relegated to the pink sheets. Who will phone their broker to buy & sell companies listed on pink sheets?

Furthermore, the remaining investor buying power will be refocused onto the companies that do report. That should be good for us longs.

The rule will be phased in over a 12 month period beginning in July 1999 and continuing through June 2000 in alphabetical increments based upon the company's name as of January 4, 1999.

So Athena Hole Filling Corp could receive a 12-month reprieve by
changing its name to Zeus-Athena Hole Filling Corp?
