Here an interesting new application for the Auto PC coming from General Magic and Microsoft. The thing I find so strange about it from a storage point of view is that they seem to think a CD Rom drive will have the sole purpose of storing mapping information. This seems like a great waste of a drive to assign it nearly a perminent function of mapping. Wouldn't it be easier to store a cache of commonly visited areas on a hard drive and then go to a CD when necessary? I guess you'll also need a second CD to play music? generalmagic.com Has it been determined yet that magnetic storage is not shock resistant enough to operate in a car? Regards, Mark
