Pat:

As part of its consumer strategy, Cisco plans to work with a broad range of partners to create a new "personalized network" that will make it easy to connect personal computers, televisions, phones and other appliances to one another and to the Internet. . .

Are there enough IP addresses in the world for all this stuff?<G>

Charlie

P.S. CSCO & ATHM - couldn't be in better company.

Some excellent finds, Pat... thanks.

These voip measures take us one step further to a truly wide-open voice over the Internet environment (or an IP-defined backbone structure which will be used for real-time voice and video services).

I know we're not there yet, but this is one step closer, and the direction has been defined, IMO.

How do you see this possibly backfiring on T and other voice providers, since it creates an environment that takes voice outside the grasp of a single provider's control at some point? You've got to know that this is being discussed behind the closed doors.
