You don't make much money in the mid or low-end inkjet business. It's a razor-blade business. Sell the printer and make your margins on the cartridges. This is already true of many of the consumer printers and isn't likely to change. A larger (and valid) question is whether HP really wants to be in the consumer market. If so, lower margins and creative ways of generating additional revenue are going to be the way of the world. If not, it'll be interesting to see where the new growth areas are. mg
