CTC-Duly noted - but what respectable management would ever discuss whisper numbers? Few will even discuss analysts estimates. The fact is that whisper numbers represent expectations of elements of the investment community, other than analysts. Those elements include people like you and I, who hold positions and/or options in a whisper subject. And failure to meet those expectations can drive the stock price more than an analysts's recommendation. Many people on sites like SI actually post their numbers on those sites, and those numbers themselves reveal expectations from within the investment community. Those posts are factored into whisper numbers. Meeting expectations of investors is probably more important than meeting the analyst's expectations. Just note how analysts are often panned on this site. But I digress.....I mentally stutter....I quit
