Schwab will have a case against anybody who impropery sells (illegally shorts) the shares, even though Schwab made a mistake in posting the split to their account.

Any short position will be covered, at the customer's expense. Schwab will likely file suit against any shareholder who fails to come-up with any cash shortfall as a result.

You are responsible for knowing your positions. Your broker is not responsible for keeping track of them for you. They do this as a courtesy.

It is indeed unfortunate, but I suspect that just what has been suggested here probably did happen. Those who sold are now out of ZULU with negative shares, and far from having a windfall, may wind-up owing their broker money.

Now, anybody here prepared to confess to terminal stupidity, having sold their "windfall" shares today?

Just think Party, if you had sold those 217,600 shares at $1.50 this morning and then bought them all back at $.85 this afternoon...........just think, that's $141,440.00. Man, what a party you could have thrown.

Does everyone understand what I'm getting at here? There was a lot of daytrading going on with those illegitimate shares today.

Even though they sold the shares, they bought them back at a lower price (illegal shorting in a way). At the end of the day the same number of shares were in their accounts that were there this morning.

Opportunity knocks rarely.
