I can understand some of your and Thomas views (and also insiders plans to sell) that RATL has now reached its proper or even a high valuation based on fundamentals , but it's always a risk to underestimate the power when the business model of a company comes into full spin...and with the current dominance by RATL in it's field I believe even RATL insiders could underestimate it. RATL will be a very different (i.e. larger) company in 2-3 years from now. Maybe I am being overly optimistic, to balance it off I have some skepticism about the overall market conditions (but not about RATL at all right now). On another note, it seems the "Rational Gurus" (a.k.a. "the three amigos") is going on a "world tour". I just got a invitation to something called "Rational '99 Worldwide Software Symposium" which is being held in 8 U.S. States, Canada, 6 European Countries, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and India. One of the three gurus is attending each seminar to give it 'guru status'. The tour will go on from January to April. Among the contents is "Best Practices of Software Development", "Rational Unified Process", "Applying UML" and of course supporting sessions on all the Rational tools. There's also a 30 minute space for "New Major Announcements" -- I got some idea ("a qualified guess") what it is about. I think it's brilliant marketing -- use the gurus to establish Rational world-wide and sell more Rational tools! Best, /Hans-Erik P.S. Recommended reading to those who want a overview of the 'Rational Unified Process' which is what really drives all those tools: "The Rational Unified Process - an introduction" by Philippe Kruchten, Addison-Wesley 1999. Excellent, well-written book! (good complement to "UML Toolkit", sorry couldn't resist :-)).
