98Q4 procedure count: LCAV said they did around 6700 procedures last quarter, up from almost 6100 in quarter ending in Sept. That's strong sequential growth for the slow Holiday season and AAO November slowdown. That means Visx procedure revs will be higher than expected. Someone on the Yahoo! thread said their sources indicate Visx is "prepaying" expenses to bring down EPS so it won't skew 1999 comparisons? With stronger than expected procedure growth and equipment sales, I don't see how 1999 comparisons will be a problem!
