PPOD is the next UPS for all we know. They have great connections,
have many many possibilities for business combinations, and they understand the Internet. It takes
more than throwing up a web page.

I agree. Peapod might turn into something very interesting. The internet (or some development from it) is here to stay. But at this stage it is guesswork as to how the balance of business will settle between the upstarts and the catching up established companies. Some skepticism isn't a bad thing.

BTW I have shares in XLK currently. So I own some Yahoo and Amazon indirectly together with MSFT, IBM etc.

john--

i am not underestimating the medium. i am looking at it with complete clarity.

one of the things the investment community hasnt quite picked up on yet is that there is an extremely low cost of entry to doing business over internet.

on the valuations...i think PPOD at this level is a compelling value relative to AMZN for instance. AMZN at 150 (or whatever it was today) is just plain stupid. of course, PPOD is probably the only one that i see that has any value. however, i view even it as speculative.

what everyone needs to understand is that a website is like a phone number. every company will be selling over the internet. its just that right now its a gee whiz type thing and not too many are doing it.

good luck to all,
trey
