Tim & to all: OFF TOPIC bulletin that has already been okayed by Tim to put on thread. I introduced myself 2 months ago on this thread and have really enjoyed working with everyone. I have been in the electronic sales & service business, consumer & industrial for 35 yrs. Most everyone knows what a screen saver is for. It keeps images from being burnt into the phosphor of your picture tube. The same thing can happen to your TV. Most of us watch CNBC or Bloomburg daily. The white ticker tape displayed across the bottom can & will burn that image into your TV. To prevent this the contrast must be turned down to 1/4 of it's maximum range and the brightness no more than 1/2 of it's range. All other settings, like color, etc, have no effect. At XMAS, I treated myself to a new 55" big screen: forgot & left it at factory settings & now I have permanent ticker tape on the bottom of everything. DUMB DUMB DUMB!!! Big screens are more prone to this problem than glass tubes. ROTTS UF RUCK TOMORROW; BILL
P.S. Any questions: PM me.

Re: XYLN
Here are the key points of Kim's presentation from conference as per MSDW report (Strong Buy):

-Service provider revenues were about 15% of revenues in
1998, going to a planned 20-25% in 1999.
- The company plans to reduce its dependence on OEMs,
with a 1999 target for OEMs at 25% of revenues.
- Growth guidance is unchanged from last quarter, where
the company said it would outpace industry growth.
- The company expects to reduce costs across its product
line at 7% per quarter going forward.
- Upcoming products appear on track. The HRE-X “Layer
3” chips are available to ship 1Q99, for example.
