2K PROBLEM COULD CLOSE DOD CHEMICAL PLANT

"Officials at an Army chemical disposal for nerve gas and blister agents have seriously mismanaged Year 2000 fixes ... raising the possibility that the government will shut down the site at a cost of $2 million per week ..."

Hmmm ... somehow I don't think this was in the govt's Y2K budget.

Eski: The reason many of us make these posts, isn't cause we're "doomsayers". "Alarmist" is a better word. The reason we do this, is so that people who don't think Y2K is a problem, realize how serious and complex this issue actually is.

We need people to WAKE UP AND FIX WHAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED.

I'm afraid too many companies and organizations are going to try to Fix-on-Failure instead of taking precautions. Increasingly we're seeing the term, "Fix-on-Failure" being used. Might not frighten you, but it frightens me.

If people only read your "Y2K feel good" and "attacking the Y2K messenger" posts, they'd get false reassurance ... and they wouldn't do anything! Sure wish I had your optimism. But, after researching Y2K for over 2 years - I don't. Good luck to you.
