Skeets, Since the combo is the top market share, by far, right now, not in the top five is non-sensical. Also, cap ex, just as they decline if Dram drops below breakeven, seem to find a way to increase dramatically as we get close to breakeven. The world is not static.

PA seems to miss the fact that Korea was the top equity market in the world last year, which affords the corps and govt. some leeway in running stock scams to raise needed capital. I do know the new fabs are going forward as planned for this year and that is spending from previous years, so they will be adding huge capacity.

I've seen preliminary 1999 spending numbers. The combined Hyundai/LG is just uner a billion dollars, with the LG arm near the $100 million AP says. The combined company will be on par spending with Samsung and Micron.
