Excellent analysis, thanks, I think that might be the best solution. Just sell and roll the money over to new leaps....in fact that way I could sell when things are glorious, keep the money in cash (or lack of margin as the case may be) and then buy more csco leaps when the market tanks again, if I can catch it.
2001's might be ok. After all we take advantage of splits that way anyhow.

I am trying to do my options in the IRA now, its a better place because of short term gains, with long held shares in the taxable account.
