Thought about TMEX & SA

I began following TMEX and reading this thread after reading about Joe Park in the WSJ. Though I am not a subscriber to SA, I have been following this thread vigilently over the last couple of months.

I don't think anyone should expect to duplicate TMEX's success overnight because trading is really about psychology more than anything else. What I have gotten out of this thread and all the frequent posters is a feel for what other individual investors are thinking during a particular trading day. Piece together this information with other sources, I make my investment decisions.

I tend to think of this thread and all the posters, whom I only know through the aliases, as a virtual support group.

Ultimately, you have to be responsible for your own success and failure. I don't think everyone is cut out to be daytrader. If you hate the churning in the stomach and the sleepless nights holding speculative buys then daytrading or speculating is probably not for you. What is important is that you find an investment style that fits your personality.

Lastly, a very important point is to not take the gains/losses so seriously. After all, it is only money. I know it may sound cliche, but I think it's absolutely true. If you have the time re-read the article about TMEX in the WSJ. What Joe started with last year was with "throw-away" money--money he could afford to lose. I think this point is often overlooked. If your livelihood depends on your next trade then that's probably not a good sign.

Well, happy trading and may the bulls continue to run wild on Wall Street.
