David--
I expressed the same concern about Madera buying from individuals that may not adhere to the company's environmental priciples. I was told that all loggers in the Amazon are regulated by the Brazilian gov't, and penalties for not following the rules are stiff.

The people cutting wood in the Amazon generally earn $25 or less per week. They do not want to jeopardize their liveliehood by not following the rules.

David, Madera is trying to provide an answer to the problem of deforestation of the Amazon, and while cutting trees may seem a strange way to go about it, if Madera harvests 100% of its max capacity from all its lands each year, there would be no appreciable effect on the environment there. If Madera is successful, and has the means to defend its lands from encroachers, then the chances are good that Madera can expand to protect more and more of the Amazon as time goes by.

That is how I see it. Perhaps a bit idealistic, but I feel that the destruction of 40% of this planet's oxygen-creating flora HAS to be taken seriously by the people who are from there, and I believe that Madera, even if dragged kicking and screaming to their current posture, are now 100% devoted to it.

If you want to believe this is all a scam to delude the gringos and steal our money, be my guest. Nobody is forcing you to buy this stock.

Good luck in all your investments!

Rick

TOPFUEL, please, buy or don't buy. There is no way we here can know everything about a company, so I would suggest that you address your concerns directly to those who can answer them: Madera International.

As for me, I feel you are starting to monopolize *both* threads with your hair-splitting. Again, buy or don't buy. That's your choice and it's my choice too. I have chosen to buy, because I like what I believe it is they are doing. If you want to go in after hours to dig into their files or subpoena the company for a lie detector test, let us know the results. Until then, remember we are all *speculating* here!

BTW, web site will be up tommorow or Monday. Can't wait to see it in all its (delayed) glory!
