announced the availability of BI/Suite v5.0.1, the latest version of
Hummingbird's fully integrated, Web-enabled, managed business intelligence
solution for the enterprise. BI/Suite v5.0.1 features advanced ad hoc query
functionality for Web users, as well as event-triggering exceptions for
exception-based reporting and broadcasting.

New Features in BI/Suite 5.0.1 include:
- Event-triggering exceptions: Allow business users to trigger query and
reporting tasks, and distribution and notification events based on
exceptions in reports -- such as a failed sales quota.
- Ad hoc query over the Web: Provides Web users with a feature-rich and
easy to use ad hoc query environment. Users can create, save and
publish new queries, select attributes and joins (automatic and
manual), apply aggregates, qualify, sort on, group on as well as
reorder attributes and utilize query modifiers. Both PC desktop and
Web users share the same queries and data sources.
- Exporting report data into Microsoft Excel: Web users can now download
contents of reports and query result sets to import into Microsoft
Excel and other spreadsheet applications.
- Client-side printing: Allows Web users to print to local printers
utilizing a Java-based print engine.
