I doubt the amount of short interest in AMZN has really much to do with the stock. If there were no shorts I'm sure it would still be $200/share because the market has decided that 'internet leaders' are worth hundreds of dollars/share. It doesn't matter how many shares are outstanding.

There is absolutely no fear in the tulip investor's minds right now.
