A Global Village USB modem is internal to my iMac. This is indeed a
strange Apple Mac ProModel situation. Thanx for the story.

Jeff, Here is your modem...

3COM - USR 05605-0 US ROBOTICS EXT 56K ITU V.90 DFV MODEM PRO USB PT

It's a bit pricey yet, but there are quite a few USB modems starting to show up, so expect the 3com price to drop a bit.

I have an iMac, too- and the USR modem on my Motorola Starmax is very superior. Not even subtle. Good stuff.

Has anyone had a successful attempt at directpc ???

I bought it , going to be installed tommarow... just looking as to what to expect.. I am in the midwest, SW missouri, so signal ought to be strong...

ISDN, ADSL, etc WAY to expensive, cable modems non existant around here...

Any thoughts??
