They were advertising for an experienced mine manager last fall.
I think that they will definitely mine this deposit themselves. There will be plenty of money for mining engineers and specialists to make this one hum. The open pit start will pay off the initial costs and the rest will be gravy.

The underground mining is simple, like a cape breton coal mine. It will be labour intensive but this is great for the locals.

Under the lake there is room for 60 ft crown pillars, perfect for what they need. It just couldn't be better. The only possible complication is how easy the kimberlite separates from the surrounding material.

Remember that they have not yet got an accurate estimate of the mass of this thing, it could still prove to be 100 million tons.
