The hoopla about scamzon's new warehouse got me thinking. As Glenn pointed out, the whole basis of Amazon's great business model was that they didn't have to keep inventory.

Now, what if Amazon opened a chain of retail stores? Is there anyone here that doubt the analysts would put a positive spin on that? Anyone at all?

Up is up and down is up in bizzaro world!

Don't bet against the 33 year old boy............

In 1988, Bezos joined Bankers Trust Company, New York, leading the development of computer systems that helped manage $250+ billion in assets and becoming their youngest vice president in February, 1990.

From 1990 to 1994, Bezos helped build one of the most technically sophisticated and successful quantitative hedge funds on Wall Street for D.E. Shaw & Co., New York, becoming their youngest senior vice president in 1992.

Ain't no sexier combo on this planet than finance and computers....
