Lifecore announced the earnings that beat estimates. Expectations were for a profit of anywhere from 0.01-0.02 and actual was 0.04. Looking at the financials does not print as rosy of a picture. First I want to state that I am not a great financial guy.

Looking over the earnings statement the major concern is that the HA division only had a 1% sales increase. This is with some International approvals of Intergel already in hand. In addition, shipments have continued to Alcon. This result is very disappointing. The major reason for the earnings was a decrease in expenses associated with R&D on the HA side. The other concern is that inventories on the HA side are building up. Inventories on the HA side now stand at over $13 million.

One last concern is the cash on hand. We have decreased the cash on hand from over the $2M level to around $600K. Are we looking at a cash crunch and secondary offering? I dont know but I started this board a short time ago to complete due diligence on the stock. Looking for input from others.

Good Luck,
Mike

I have been trying to figure out if this stock is ahead of itself or not. My personal opinion is the prospects look great but what is "fair value"? Looking over estimates for earnings for 6/99-6/00 the estimates are for 0.50-0.53 projected profit. I am having trouble determining the potential profit on the Intergel sales. Does anyone have any other reports or analysis on what profits will be going forward?

Let us know,
Mike
