"It seems the much ballyhooed rollout of digital interactive cable is finally coming to fruition."

Looks like this is really gonna finally happen.
Guess I'd rather be early than late!

Boy, I am fired up today! Let's take an inventory of some facts that have not yet been mentioned here: (1) HUGE volume today, stock price moving steadily higher. (2) Only impetus is the SFA news, NOTHING out of CCUR at all. To me, this means the daytraders and little guys are not the cause of this move, as there is no headline hype at all for CCUR. (3) CCUR up big on huge volume, SEAC flat on light volume (!!!!). To me, we add all this up and it implies that we are going to FLY higher on imminent news.

To Zoe, SHUE1, TM and the rest of the B.S. artists -- Guess CCUR really is a joke! Boy, look at that move in SEAC. Pretty powerful!

You didn't understand what I wrote.

If YOU paid more attention you'd know that the Oracle Video Server can be hosted on many machines, and both Ncube, SGI, and others have adopted it. Do you think SGI is stupid ?

It is true that these machines coupled with the Oracle Video Server (OVS) software is pricey today, and that is the only reason why TW couldn't use them yet, but that is changing, and the capability it will offer when prices come down won't be able to be matched by the current players like SEAC and CCUR. The substaintial advantage of using a server that leverages advanced database concepts, will open up a floodgate of new applications, especially customized content.

As for this composed/customized movie concept, you again misunderstood. The idea is that YOU the viewer, sitting in your recliner with your buddies before watching a football game, tell the server to "Show me all the touchdowns by the Packers in 1998 season" and within seconds these plays are threaded together along with related textural information and streamed to you like a real set of highlights. You could instantly ask for the same thing about the opposing team, or ask to look at all the fumbles .... the list is up to YOU. None of these streams are precomposed, but the composition is instantly upon request.

To do this simultaneously for thousands of streams takes a very powerful set of algorithms and processors, far beyound the capabilities of a mediahawk or the mediacluster, which are simple bit pumps with no real smarts other than the awareness of a file name and location. Oracle and SGI are leading the way on this Information Management concept and it will be the "second generation" of IVOD, applicable to both the internet and cable ITV. It goes far beyond simply viewing a video someone else composed and stored. You see only EXACTLY what you want to see. It will be absolutely great.

Enjoy the current ride, and get ready for the next one. That is what I am doing.
