Regarding MSFT selling MSN to AT&T, I think its far more likely that they discussed AT&T taking a stake in or becoming more involved as a partner with MSN rather than buying it.

MSN is tightly integrated into MSFT - I can't imagine the company would be able to divest itself of the personnel and internal relationships comprising it... it would just be too difficult.
