" CNBC just reported that AMZN's market cap has exceeded the value of the country of Norway" That's nonsense. CNBC is wrong. First of all, nobody knows what is the "value" of a country. One has estimates for Gross Domestic Product (GDP) but that is a different thing. Value has no time dimension and GDP is a flow, i.e., it is measured per year, usually. So you cannot compare the market cap of AMZN with the GDP of a country. I am not saying that AMZN is not overvalued, just that this comparison is meaningless.
