DownSouth, good recommendation; I can't imagine scanning pictures without using Workshop to touch them up. But I don't think you need all that much in the way of a system. I'm using a P166MMX with 32M edo ram, and encountering no problemos. Since I am using a 300dpi printer, I scan at 150ppm, get great prints, and their jpg files require on average 200K of storage space.
