WASHINGTON SWAMPED IN FECAL MATERIAL

WASHINGTON: The capitol of the United States sank deeper in fecal material as the Senate Historic Impeachment Trial of President Bill Clinton commenced on Thursday.

After being sworn in as the jury by Chief Justice William Rhenquist, and swearing to be impartial, most of the 100 Senators immediately denied they had made up their minds on the outcome of the trial. Millions of Americans snickered at this thought.

The Senators then fought like dogs behind the scenes over the rules for the trial, such as whether or not to call Monica Lewinsky as a witness. As this is the first impeachment trial in 130 years, there are no rules.

President Clinton went about his normal business of running the country, while his lawyers and supporters maneuvered to head off a lengthy trial by such means as not calling witnesses. As the concept of a trial without witnesses seemed odd to many, predictions are that the trial will drag on for at least a month.

Supporters of Clinton want a vote on a resolution of "censure", which means (according to Senator Byrd) something like the mark of Cain, or (according to many Republicans) an unconstitutional wimpout.

The Frumious Bandersnatch is keeping close watch on the Impeachment Trial from our outpost thousands of miles from Washington, and will keep our faithful readers up-to-date as events warrant, and even if not.

Actually Shemp, I've noticed a significant uptick in the quality of your name calling. Note I haven't referred to your boring posts recently, and have not confused you with Gore.

Keep up the progress, Shemp.
