What retail company in the history of the planet has been able to maintain net margins or 10%? Take a look at a broad array of retailers and compare their margins. Typical commodity retailers, exactly what Amazon is, are lucky to see sustained profit margins of 2%-3%. The Internet, according to major studies, will generate LOWER profit margins. I think Amazon will be lucky to see nets of 1.5% on $10 billion in sales (a sales figure Amazon uses as their internal goal). And that will take 7 to 10 years.

My point is that the fundamental arguments do not excplain anything. The shorts know this better than anyone. Calling this a "mania" doesn't matter. Regularly take profits, trade it, etc., and prosper. We're here to make money, not be "right." At least that's what I'm doing.
