Hey Dawg, here's something to cheer you up.

The first guy at work (yes, I too have a day job) to open up an online account did so about 3 years ago. He wasn't sure what to do, so he thought he'd invest 75% of his money in a particular stock.

Being a newbie, he screwed up and ordered the stock twice, putting him at the limit of a margin call. He didn't notice his error for 2 weeks.

His punishment? He had bought (a lot of) DELL at the equivalent of 1.50 a share and never looked back.

Luck counts. Hope the story didn't make you even more depressed.

Dawg ... my god. Your story puts my hard luck stories to shame (at least as far as the market is concerned). I really share your pain. I know how easy it is to make mistakes in this market. I know of several people that have had similar experiences, but they caught it before it ran up too much. I myself accidentally sold a stock when I meant to buy (those little buttons sometimes are difficult to notice - buy or sell - when you are in a hurry to make a trade) and had I not had shares of that stock in my account, they would have been shorted. When I went to sell the "new" shares I was shocked to see they weren't in my account. I was lucky.

At least be assured that everyone on Tim's thread seems to be honest and well intentioned and it seems we are all here for each other. New friends found, that is certainly something to be happy about.

My best wishes to you and your family and may you make back your losses tenfold!

Regards,
Barbara
