Am I wishful speculating? I asked this (see below) innocent question on the Dream Machine thread to see what the average performance junkie thinks (if anything) about the coming of Rambus. Seems there could be a "O/S upgrade" effect a la Windows 98 from people putting off upgrading until the new memory is out. Remember Bill Gates threatening a recession if Win 98 was delayed by an injunction?

Would anyone like to speculate on the dream setup a year or two from now when the next generation of RAM (if there is one) is standard?. I'm a RMBS investor/trader, and curious from that standpoint also.

TIA,
wily

* Katmai will be using Rambus Dram. Same for merced.

That might put the screws to me buying this Tyan board ... I had intended to drop a coupla katmai's on it at some point in the future. Will Rambus be a new pin configuration, incompatible with current SDRAM slots, etc?

re: We have shipped tons of Rambus memories to Nintendo

Tons of Rambus memories

I have no doubt this stock will be higher this time next year.
