Berney; RE:" The 17th Century Tulip Frenzy "

Was nothing compared to internet stocks, though there was a Renaissance and Reformation and New World going on back then. All we can crow about today is: the end of Monarchy and subsequent defeat of reactionary socialism in The 50-year Cold War; the realization of information as commodity / production process; and, better drugs.

That's for sure, if you can get them. No more of these weird remedies and astrological charts today - we've got pills that anti the bio's, charts of the human genome and potions to gild the lily.

But still no better understanding of the human comedy, though sometimes we do get the giggles. Every now and then, I have to leave this place, these States, where there is only the present, and it looks like a StripMall, and go back to the Old World, where everyone carries baggage. Just to - you know - just to sit around, drink coffee, smoke cigarettes and be ...

... something that is not on empTeeVee, or even in fashion, or anything like that ...

there, there;

there, there.
