Peter - you read ALMOST all of it right! What you missed was that the 1.21 figure seemed no longer valid (alas, like many of our tried and true!) and that I was using the indicator to try to pick bottoms and tops which it did fairly well in this last go - around this summer. Since earnings are a component of the indicator, you are right in saying "yikes" - if they tumble, so does the indicator, and so do FA based markets. 'course who KNOWS what THIS one is??? Got any clues? Bill
