"" MEMPHIS, Tenn., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- AutoZone, Inc. (NYSE: AZO), today reported net income for the 12 weeks ended November 21, 1998, of $51.3 million, an increase of 8% from $47.5 million for the fiscal first quarter of 1998. Diluted earnings per share increased 10% to 34 cents from 31 cents.

Sales for the quarter rose 33% to $901 million from $675 million a year earlier ""

I copied the exact press release....I don't believe that they FORCASTED a 33% increase, they REPORTED a 33% increase.

AZO hit a high in July, along with the rest of the market, and a low in October, along with the rest of the market. Since then it's been a steady climb up. Not straight up, ala ebay and Yahoo, but very much in-line with this type of long-term, steadily growing company. For that portion of my portfolio, this seems still to be a good choice !!
