Hi stockroach,

<How did you come up with 44 million in sales?>

The simple explanation is that I'm just guessing.

My reasoning is that the last 2 quarters suggest declining revenue, but at a slower rate. $53 million to $47 million to "?". My over all impression from the last conference call was that most of the damage from the "end of life" effect of older products is more or less done and that Savage is mostly picking up the slack at this point, although slowly. I would also tend to suspect that a new CEO might hesitate to jump on board if his first quarter in the hot seat meant reporting substantially lower sales. Expecting sales to remain flat from Q3 struck me as optimistic and another $6 million decline seemed a bit pessimistic, so I closed my eyes and split the difference.

On some threads I've been involved in, it was common to see as many as 6 amateur estimates. Some of the folks were remarkably accurate and often got a lot closer than the professionals. If nothing else, I've found the exercise of running the numbers helps improve my investment skills mainly because it requires a certain amount of research. Also, posting my estimates gives everyone a chance to rub it in if I'm a long way off, so I try harder. It's been awhile since available information seemed stable enough to come up with numbers I feel comfortable with. I think -.19 should be pretty close. I'd be curious to see what others on the thread come up with. Maybe we could start our own consensus?

Regards,

Don

Sweetheart:

<Frank there you go again.> There I go again???, you mean being positive??? Shit, I read other threads and no one seems to have a problem with anyone being positive. Heck, Internet stocks go up $30 in a day, I think our old S3 can do it in a year.

< You said $30 last year.>

I don't believe that I said S3 was going to $30 IN 1998, maybe in 1997, but not in 1998.

Why, did I say that? Two major oem, deals now in place, sit back and count the money roll in.

You know its OK if S3 goes up, right. This is one of the few SI boards that seems to be determined to see their stock doing poorly an enjoying it. Strange....very strange
