The competition among Web portal sites heats up this month with
Walt Disney/Infoseek's Go Network set for its formal debut while
Lycos Inc. (LCOS) said it would offer Web commerce tools for
users of its personal home pages. Lycos president Robert Davis said
auctions and shopping cart technologies would be made available to
registered users, Bloomberg News reported. While Lycos itself is
considered a takeover candidate by Silicon Valley analysts, Davis
told Bloomberg he is looking for acquisitions "with significant audience
and ones that have commerce infrastructure."

LCOS is my next longterm Intel!.....it's a takeover candidate...don't be surprised at the takeover price!!

Lyle, Re: "After market trading on INTC is up. 6 trades went at $132 or higher."

Could it possibly be Abby Joseph Cohen's influence? From some guy on some other threads:

billwot and all, Wall Street Week's special guest tonight was Abby
Joseph Cohen, whom Rukeyser introduced as the formerly most
influential woman securities analyst, now the most influential
securities analyst, period. From my Cisco post:

How about this, Abby Joseph Cohen on Wall Street Week tonight,
when asked, said her favorite sector for '99 is technology and top
picks are Intel and EMC. Reason: 'because of their unique
products.'

Tony

p.s. Maybe more likely earnings leak?
