Would agree with you if we had 0.2% to 0.5% advances with some retracements but such desperate moves up, of 2% to 3% are not exactly the foundation of a sustainable bull market, but more the precursor of a severe decline.

I totally agree, and thought it should be spoken twice. Divergences are not always right the first time, but are much more reliable the second time in the same cycle.

Noted that there was a sell CMB signal on your analysis. My own (regression/time-series based) method also gave a massive sell on CMB. The standard momentum methods - stochastics, MACD, are not showing it that clearly

Also my 34 week Bollinger Band wouldn't indicate the top yet.

On the other hand SPX is above the 34 week Bollinger Band. If it hits 1300 next week my weekly regression method will have a type of sell signal last seen in the week of 17 July 98 (not as strong though). It would also coincide with a line drawn from April through the July top.

I'm not selling yet though. Everyone else seems so bullish :)
