Patrick,
Hi!!!

RE: Dell the Mature Internet Play!

You made a very interesting statement the other night...."I first entered investing for three reasons...
1. PC's 2. The internet 3. Cure of the Common Cold

and Dell fit the first two...." and IMO for you to own but one stock all this time is even a more impressive statement....

With regards to Dell going direct as early as they did... it would be hard not classifying them as the original internet company...
And, the link I just sent you keeps me curious as to where Dell management is taking this company...the concept seems so simple...the only thing that is lacking for any company succeeding in the direct sales is a culture...and Dell has long ago established this culture...it started in his dorm room ...as long as he keeps his word on service Dell will conquer the world...why else would the others change after laughing at his idea? Michael Dell's original concept of how a PC company should be fit the direct sales approach from day #1....long before anyone dreamt of the concept...As for the others making their attempts at going direct.... Swallowing that arrogance is something that keeps me smiling ...no wonder Michael says "we find this amusing..." Dell is soooo far ahead ....Dell is unstoppable....a culture has been formed...Going direct is the direction the world is moving...

And, congratulations Patrick....you saw it long ago also...too bad you still only have those original ten shares.... :o)

Best, kemble
