>>Interesting that you mention both the 49ers and Cisco in the same message, because they're both overrated right now.

Ouch! Good shot, JP, but since you're 99% invested in TXN, you're comments make a strange kind of sense. You're probably a Boyz fan and you probably are evaluating csco by semiconductor sector standards. Since semis are cyclical, they rarely gain high evaluations. Even the finest of them, Intel, rarely pops its head above a 30 ttm p/e. That's because they can turn on you at any time, and they are not in a hypergrowth market (as judged by revenue growth opportunity). Networking is a whole different scenario. The market will award a huge premium to the clear sector leader because the revenue and earnings potential is so fantastic. If you are judging by Grahamsonian metrics, you will never buy a networking or internet stock, but then again, you'll never make the kind of returns that they can generate. Check out this graph of txn versus csco over a 5 year period: techstocks.com

I'd make two suggestions: 1)read Moore's "The Gorilla Game" and 2)turn on your tv tomorrow morning and watch the Niners kick butt.

Talk to y'all some other time,
49er Faithful Frank
