Spoc- you're killin' me with this Bob Hope-Generation thinking.

" all these newbie investors who think that an online account is a game have a shock coming to them."

i mean, let's face it. it is a game. and everyone will need to play.
the fact that we're all responsible for our own decisions, is a given
going in.

the days when you did your 30 years with the company and retired, with
a gold watch and a pension, are over. this is a new time, my friend.
everyone, and now especially those of us who spent those few days
on Max Yasger's farm, need every available tool, to help
secure our own future. and that will include online investment
accounts. something with all the benefits of brokerage, and all the
conveniences of banking. sure there'll be bandwidth problems, and
missed communications, and "daytraders" and hype, along the way.

but there will also be opportunity.
and that's really all there need be.

I got hit pretty hard back in 87. in 87 I had the stop/losses all set up on the computer at my broker. In one day I found I had sold all of my stocks at substantially lower prices from my bottom sell point. The end result was I lost about 25% on that day.

And by the time I found that out, well I couldn't get back in quite the same. (A lot less money).
