Stephen - Re: " Paul, has anyone sat down and figured how much net worth of Intel comes from their investments in other stocks like CMGI,etc? "

Funny you should ask.

I started doing that yesterday - using what information is available through Intel's publicly announced investments.

It will take me about a week or so to complete.

However, the SURGE in Internet stocks has BALLOONED Intel's Investments.

Here's just a small example:

Intel owns 5% of Broadcast.Com plus 946,000 shares of Broadcom Technology. These two ALONE represent $338 Million of investment assets.

My guess is that Intel's total is worth between $1.5 to $2.5 Billion - just for the publicly traded companies.

Bear in mind that a collapse in Internet Euphoria will greatly reduce these assets.
